Meet the team

The SHV project team is made up of ACET’s Transformation Fellows, Research analysts and experts in the field of agriculture. The team works with other stakeholders to curate the case studies.

Communications Expert

Ms. Belinda Ayamgha is currently the Communications Coordinator at the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET). She is a communications professional with vast experience working in Ghana’s media landscape. Before joining ACET, she worked for nine years with Ghana’s state news agency, the Ghana News Agency (GNA).

George Boateng

Development Expert

George Boateng holds a Master of Science Degree in Rural Development and Management (International Development Studies) from the China Agricultural University (CAU) in Beijing, China.

Dr. Edward K. Brown

Dr. Edward K. Brown

Project Director

Dr. Edward K. Brown is Director of Country Engagements and Operations at ACET. He has more than 35 years’ experience in international development and public policy, half of which were spent at the World Bank. He has worked extensively in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Adiel Nkonge Mbabu

Adiel Nkonge Mbabu

Senior Consultant

Dr. Adiel Mbabu serves as a development consultant with CAPDEV Consultants Limited. He previously served as the Regional Director for the International Potato Center (CIP) in sub-Saharan Africa. Before joining CIP, he served as Senior Adviser – Agriculture Development (AusAID) and as Technical Director, Agricultural Research and Development Support Facility in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

John Osei

John Osei

Communications Expert

John Osei is a Communications Officer with the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET). He is a graduate of Ashesi University with a BSc Business Administration and has great interest in finance, entrepreneurship, agribusiness, pan-African development and good governance. John is also co-founder of Barak Capital Co-operative Credit Union, which supports smallholder farmers.

Nirav Shah

Nirav Shah

Project Lead

Nirav Shah is ACET’s Senior Manager in the Research and Policy Advisory Services team. Nirav received his Master’s degree in Development Economics from Yale University, USA and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Mumbai, India. His main interests are in public policy, public finance management, financial inclusion and private sector development.

Yohannis Mulu Tessema

Yohannis Mulu Tessema

Development Economist

Dr. Yohannis Mulu Tessema is a resident Transformation Fellow at the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET). He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia. He also holds a MSc and a BSc in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management respectively from Haramaya University, Ethiopia.

Gilly Stephen Owusu holds a masters degree (MSc) in Development Planning and Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. He interned with African Center for Economic Transformation, where he worked on the Youth, Employment and Skills (YES) programme and the contributed to the OSF portal.
